French Link Eggbutt

The French Link Eggbutt is a fairly mild snaffle bit with a flat link in the centre of the mouthpiece which breaks the snaffle’s normal ‘nutcracker’ action. The smooth Eggbutt cheeks of this bit prevent uncomfortable pinching of the horse’s lips. A fixed cheek bit such as an Eggbutt snaffle is ideal for horses than are unsure of the bit, as there is less movement in the mouth than loose ring designs.

The French Link Mouthpiece allows the bit to be more mobile in the mouth, which makes the horse less likely to lean on the bit. The French Link distributes pressure over the tongue and bars of the mouth, with minimal interference with the roof of the mouth, encouraging the horse to go on the bit.
